Breath Healing
The next breath healing session will take place on Wednesday November 29 from 6-7.30pm at La Isla in Santurce. Early bird : $30 ($35 from November 23).
What Daniella has named Breath Healing is a powerful, transformative, and healing breathing technique. It differs from most yoga breathing techniques as it involves circular, active, and forceful breathing through the mouth. This changes the balance of carbon dioxide and oxygen within the body and can lead to the release of unprocessed emotions and accumulated stress. For some, it can lead to an altered state of consciousness.
Daniella came across a similar breathing technique purely by chance in Atlanta, where her and her family were sheltering with her in-laws after Hurricane Maria. Like many after the hurricane, she was suffering from post traumatic stress. She was feeling a lot of anxiety and was very much on edge. She showed up at a local yoga studio for a regular yoga class only to find that it was replaced by a teacher training breathwork activity. She was kindly invited to attend, which she did, with no knowledge about what it was that she was about to experience. Her first breathwork session was challenging, but it completely transformed her, allowing her to feel much more grounded and at ease.
